Libertas — all politics and no facts

I WELCOME the fact that Libertas, in its Lisbon treaty campaign launch, said it wanted the referendum to revolve around “facts, not politics”.

So it is a pity they used their launch to promote yet more wildly inaccurate claims about the treaty.

Earlier this year they dreamt up ridiculous nonsense about how the treaty would stop Irish people voting in any future EU referenda. Article 48 of the treaty makes it clear it is up to Ireland to decide how it adopts treaties and we aren’t changing the system.
