Housing applicants waiting in despair

HOMELESSNESS is increasing at a frightening rate in every town and city.

We are all aware of the instances where extended families are living in the one house, leading to overcrowding. People are sleeping in sitting rooms as they cannot get local authority houses.

They are also living in mobile homes where one can see condensation running down the walls or dripping from ceilings on to beds, where couples sleep with two or three children.
