Weekend lesson for drink review committee

I APPLAUD your editorial on the ‘demon drink’ (January 10).

I wish Justice Minister Brian Lenihan and his six-strong committee every success. I have no fears about their deliberations, but will they have the courage to take the necessary action on the ground?

Will they walk the streets of our towns and cities on Saturday nights or early on Sunday mornings when many of the horrors will become only too evident to them.
