Dempsey’s comments arrogant and insulting

I FOUND the comments by Transport Minister Noel Dempsey that the people of the mid-west were over-reacting to the effects of the Aer Lingus cutbacks at Shannon arrogant and insulting.

People in the region are just starting to cope with the implications of the Open Sky policy which will result in the transfer of booked flights from Shannon to Dublin after October 1.

American Airlines was amazed to hear that Dublin airport was four hours from Shannon on a good day, and thought that a simple email was sufficient to inform me of this “schedule change” to my flight on October 31.
