Snail’s progress

I VISITED Ireland recently and stayed with relatives in Glenville, Co Cork.

While there I needed to check my email messages and found that the only way to access the internet was by phone via eircom.

This was an incredibly slow process and took me over 15 minutes just to bring up my email carrier and much longer to download and send off replies to my email messages.
