Staff recruited to an uncertain future

BUPA has taken little care of its employees in view of its sudden decision to quit Ireland.

Some had left well-paid jobs to join the company. They are now high and dry and deeply embittered. Worse still, BUPA knew it could end up pulling out of the Irish market, but continued to interview for jobs.

The concept of risk equalisation has been on the cards for some time.
