Ahern’s outrageous slur on BUPA

THE loss of hundreds of top-class jobs at BUPA in Fermoy is a devastating blow to hard-working families in the region.

For years I have been raising the risk equalisation issue in the Oireachtas, but the Government’s response has always been the same — total inaction.

Its failure to regulate the health insurance market and strike a balance between risk equalisation and competition will have negative consequences for all Irish people, but the most immediate impact will be on hundreds of families who rely on BUPA.
