Tidal power an overlooked option

DESPITE the pros and cons of wind power as an alternative, no major lobby seems to be interested in wave power as a means of harnessing nature’s strength.

We live on an island surrounded by water, waves and currents, yet our efforts to exploit this potential hasn’t met with enthusiasm from the Government.

The British have already invested in tidal energy as an extension of hydroelectric power for renewable sources. However, Ireland is still at first base on wind power.
