Five questions the Government should answer
First we should ask ourselves these five questions:
1. Why have they chosen to disenfranchise tens of thousands of voters by refusing properly and fully to review the voters’ register?
2. Why have they refused to redraw constituency boundaries accurately to reflect population shift in recent years?
3. Do we really want a Government that is selling our history (Tara) and our future (Corrib gas, private hospitals on public land) to big business?
4. Are we prepared to allow the continuing lack of investment in health, education and research and development?
5. Will we accept a two-tier society where the elite get instant access to private services while the rest of us must wait for crippled, under-resourced public services as we attempt to make do with less and less every year?
These are the issues we must remember when Bertie and Michael tell us how well we’re doing. Now start making your own list of the questions you want answered when they send their lackeys to your door.
