Be grateful for people like Bono and Bob

ARE we to assume from JA Barnwell that only those who are ‘poor’ are entitled to “ponder the problems of the poorest of the poor” (Irish Examiner letters, October 27).

It appears hypocritical to many that people like Bono and Bob Geldof, for example, work to improve the lives of those not as fortunate as themselves. The underlying theme appears to be that men of substantial wealth should not be doing this.

Would these people prefer if Bono and Bob didn’t work tirelessly for the good of others? Would they prefer them not to ever consider anyone other than themselves?
