Gardaí in the dock: why no resignations?

THE Morris report on Garda misbehaviour, to put it mildly, must be the most serious yet on the shortcomings in the public sector revealed in recent years.

It beggars belief that there have been no resignations at the highest level of the force. After all, senior officers have come up through the ranks and all have experienced service at every level.

Are we to believe that none of them was aware of the goings on described in the Morris report? If they were not, their competence is suspect. If they were, their suitability to serve in top positions is in question.
