Time to put taxpayer first in sale of public housing for the quick buck

THE sale of public housing for profit must end. It’s disgraceful that people who are lucky enough to obtain such a house are only too willing to cash it in for the sake of a quick buck.

Some people are only too willing to sell the roof over their heads, having fought hard to get it from the State. It’s a scandal that what is essentially charity in public housing is being exploited by opportunists. Legislation needs to be tightened urgently to protect the taxpayer from this kind of scam.
