Fine Gael language policy is absurd

IT is amusing to see Fine Gael fighting a rearguard action because the proposal to ditch Irish in schools is unpopular among the Irish. Surely that party knows by now that we are proud of our language and culture.

Of all the idiocies put forward by Enda Kenny, dropping Irish from the school curriculum because it is compulsory is one of the worst.

What focus group told him to do that?
