'To say I saw appalling stuff is an understatement': Irish soldier on fighting on Ukraine's frontline

A number of Irish men have lost their lives fighting with the Ukrainian army since Russia invaded in February 2022

Despite the horrors witnessed while fighting the Russians on the Ukrainian frontline and suffering from post-traumatic strees, a former Irish soldier says he is actively considering returning to the warzone to fight once more with his Ukrainian colleagues.

Peter*, a single man who is in his 30s and comes from the south of Ireland, served with the Defence Forces for five years.
