A section of Irish waters is set to be included in a designated area of the Atlantic that would significantly limit emissions from ships.

During the final Cabinet meeting of this coalition, Minister Eamon Ryan received approval in principle for the designation of an Emission Control Area (ECA) for the Northeast Atlantic to include Irish waters.
