More wind and rain due as Met Éireann issues fresh weather warnings

More wind and rain are on the way, with much of the country falling into warnings issued by Met Éieann.
A status yellow rain warning Cork, Cavan, Monaghan, Tipperary, Waterford, and all of Leinster will be in place from 11pm for a 24-hour period.
These counties will experience flooding, poor visibility, and difficult travel conditions as Met Éireann warns that rain falling on already saturated ground and high river levels will lead to challenging conditions.
Separately, a yellow warning for wind will come into effect for Wexford, Wicklow, Dublin, Meath and Louth at 11pm.

The national forecaster has warned that strong and gusty southeasterly winds with high tides will lead to wave overtopping, fallen trees and loose debris, as well as difficult travel conditions.
The warning will stay in place until 1pm on Wednesday.
More generally, some outbreaks of rain and drizzle will spread across Munster from the southwest, with some sleet or snow expected on high ground for a time. Daytime highs of 3C to 7C are expected.
It will then become wet and windy overnight, with outbreaks of rain becoming widespread, with some sleet or snow at times in the west, northwest and on higher ground. Lows of 0C to 5C are set for Tuesday night before it becomes milder.
Wednesday will be wet and breezy with rain, drizzle and some sleet or snow in the northwest and on higher ground. The rain will then become confined to Leinster and Ulster with scattered showers for Connacht and Munster. Daytime highs of 2C to 5C are set for the north, but elsewhere will see 5C to 10C.
It will then be mostly cloudy with drier conditions further east, but scattered showers or persistent spells of rain are expected further west. Lows between-1C to 3C are set for the night, but it should be a little milder in the southwest.
Thursday will start mostly cloudy with some scattered showers and more persistent spells of rain, which will move northeastwards across the country. The southwest will then start to see brighter and drier conditions. Highs of 5C to 10C are expected.
It will become cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading eastwards across the country with lows of 2C to 6C on Thursday night.
Friday will see more rain and showers, some turning heavy, spreading eastwards. Brighter spells will develop later in the afternoon with daytime highs sitting between 9C and 12C.
Looking into the weekend, Saturday will see more outbreaks of rain and drizzle, which will start to become patchier before it clears through the day.
A further outlook shows that unsettled and mixed weather is expected for the rest of the weekend.
