The company that runs JP McManus's luxury resort is to seek permission to build 10 lodges there as Limerick tees off for the Ryder Cup in 2027.
Tizzard Holdings Unlimited, the operators of Adare Manor, have advertised that they have sought permission to build 10 lodges on the grounds of the resort.
The application is to be made for a development at Graigue, Rathkeale Road in Adare, within the lands of the hotel and golf resort.
According to the planning notice, the development would comprise of 10 detached two-storey and three-bedroom self-catering lodges.
If permission is given, the development would be linked to the Adare Manor wastewater treatment plant network, with access to be provided through an existing gateway into the resort.
The Ryder Cup will take place in Adare in two years, with the 2025 edition of the tournament taking place at Bethpage Black Course in New York.
Limerick City and County Council have announced a series of public installations and “celebratory displays” to mark the ceremonial handover of the putter from New York to Adare.
According to a spokesperson for the council, the “striking” installations aim to capture attention both locally and globally, “as millions of viewers tune in to the Ryder Cup and the symbolic handover to Limerick”.
