Fianna Fáil TD criticises move to put temporary ambulance training college in Haulbowline 

James O'Connor said the fact that the site had been committed to by then health minister Stephen Donnelly but its temporary home was being sited elsewhere is 'a joke'

Fianna Fáil TD James O'Connor said the HSE's capital plan had committed to the college being located in Youghal, and that plans for a temporary site had been 'advanced'.

A government TD has hit out at the treatment of his East Cork hometown, saying that the "only thing the Government has delivered for Youghal is a 900-person IPAS centre".

Fianna Fáil's James O'Connor made the comments after he had learned that a temporary facility for an ambulance training college would be housed in Haulbowline, instead of the town, before a permanent facility is located in Youghal at the St Raphael's site.
