Woman, 20s dies in single vehicle crash in Kildorrery, north Cork

The accident happened on the N73 Mallow-Dublin Road at Kildorrery at around 7.25am.

A woman in her 20s has died in a single vehicle crash in north Cork.

The accident happened on the N73 Mallow-Dublin Road at Kildorrery at around 7.25am.

The woman, who was the driver and lone occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body has been removed to the local mortuary where an autopsy examination will take place in due course. The Coroner has been notified.

The N73 is currently closed between Kildorrery Village and the R522 for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area of the N73 Mallow-Dublin road at Kildorrery between 7am and and 7.30am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
