Five people have been injured following a four-vehicle crash involving three trucks in Co Cork.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the collision — which also involved a car — on the N25 at Ballyhobert, Youghal, on Tuesday.

A spokesperson said that five people have been conveyed to hospital with injuries which are believed to be non-life threatening. 

The incident occurred at around 6.55am and the road had been closed for a number of hours, causing traffic delays for commuters. The road has since reopened, gardaí said. 

"Investigations are ongoing," gardaí added.
