A fundraiser which has been set up for the family of the Tipperary chef who was shot dead in Missouri has raised more than €130,000 so far.
Shaun Brady was killed after he attempted to prevent a car from being robbed outside his Brady and Fox restaurant in Kansas City last Wednesday..
Two male juveniles have been charged in relation to his death.
A fundraiser has since been set up by the Kansas City Irish Festival, an annual event in which Mr Brady had been involved.
Organisers of the festival launched the 'Shaun Brady Memorial Fund' on Friday, with $147,874 (€133,649) being raised at the time of writing. The fund is hoping to reach $200,000 (€180,000) in order to help with Mr Brady's wife, two children and family.
In a post on the GoFundMe page, the organisers said Mr Brady "nourished his community not just with incredible food, but with a deep pride in his culture and a contagious enthusiasm for celebration".
"The light he brought to our Irish community will endure through those touched by his talent, spirit, and joy for life.
"We invite you to contribute $45 — the ticket price of Shaun's cherished KCIF Irish Fest Breakfast shared with friends, though any amount will mean the world to those who loved him and to the Kansas City Irish community that he brought together with his remarkable spirit. All proceeds will go directly to a trust fund to support Shaun's family."
The festival took place over the weekend, with staff paying tribute to Mr Brady by wearing buttons and badges with his initials on them alongside an old Irish proverb - - which, roughly translated, means ' '.
