A status yellow weather warning has been issued for 18 counties with "persistent" rain set to sweep across the island on Tuesday.
The warning kicks in at 4am on Tuesday and will last for 24 hours. It will affect all of Leinster as well as Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Roscommon, Tipperary and Waterford.
