Autopsy completed on man's body in Tipperary but cause of death not revealed

A Polish man in his 30s was found dead at a house in Kilross in Ballycrana on Wednesday.

Gardaí tonight received the results of an autopsy into the death of a man in Tipperary but would not say at this stage whether the case will be upgraded to a murder investigation.

A Polish man, aged in his 30s, was found dead at a house in Kilross in Ballycrana on Wednesday at around 4am.

It is understood he suffered a violent death in the house which he rented with a number of others.

His remains were taken to University Hospital Waterford where an autopsy took place today.

In a statement, gardaí said they "continue to investigate all the circumstances" surrounding the discovery of the man's body. They believe there may have been a party there on Tuesday night and are trying to trace anyone who attended it.

The scene at Ballycrana remains sealed off tonight.

Local councillor John Crosse said the community is in "shock” at the man's death.

This is a man who was living and working here for quite some time, several years, and for this to happen, in this small area and especially over Christmas, it is quite shocking.

“People are deeply upset. Our thoughts are with the man’s friends and family," he told the Irish Examiner.

“The house is outside the town and we understand he was sharing with a number of people, and they may have had a gathering in the house that night."

Gardaí continue to appeal to anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact Tipperary Town Garda Station on 062 80670, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
