A vigil in Youghal has heard from her family that Tina Satchwell "put a smile on everyone's face" with her eternally positive outlook on life.
Dozens of people of all ages gathered on Youghal's Mall Beach to honour the life of Tina, with candles lit in her honour, as well as spontaneous singing of hymns by some.
Locals in Youghal had arranged their own vigil on Saturday to pay their respects to Tina ahead of another that will take place in her native Fermoy on Monday.
Those who came spoke of how Tina was one of their own, just as she was in her native Fermoy.
They spoke of a woman with a radiant smile, and how Youghal as a community will always rally to support those they loved.
"Youghal is a wonderful community who wanted to pay their respects to Tina," organiser Lisa Fitzgerald said.
Canon Bill Bermingham, a Fermoy native like Tina Satchwell, told those gathered that they were doing so for Tina and her family, who have suffered so much in recent years.
Mall Beach is a beautiful place to gather "because it reminds us of the beautiful place where we live, of the beautiful and peace-loving town", he said.
However, what has happened to Tina and her family is "so dreadful", he added.
"She was not given the respect for which we should always show to the dead," Canon Bermingham said.

He read a brief message from Tina's family in Fermoy, who admitted there are "no words to describe the pain in our hearts right now".
"Tina, who knew that the last time we met would be our last, we would have hugged you extra tight. She would put a smile on everyone's face. She loved positivity," the Dingivan family said.
Everyone who knew and loved her will cherish the moments they spent with her, they added.
"Fly high, our angel. She will always be in our hearts."

Canon Bermingham asked to spare a thought for Tina's neighbours on Grattan St in Youghal where she lived.
The husband of Tina Satchwell appeared in court on Saturday morning charged with her murder.
Richard Satchwell, of Grattan St in Youghal, Co Cork, appeared at a special sitting of Cashel District Court before Judge Miriam Walsh.
Arriving at the courthouse just before 10.20am, the 57-year-old, dressed in a black t-shirt and grey tracksuit pants, was flanked by a number of detectives as he entered the courtroom with his head bowed.
A small crowd had gathered outside the court amid a heavy security presence by gardaí but Mr Satchwell’s entrance passed without incident.
He was charged with the murder of Ms Satchwell at their home at Grattan St in Youghal on March 20, 2017, contrary to common law.
Judge Walsh remanded Mr Satchwell back to Clonmel District Court on October 17.
