Tina Satchwell's husband charged with her murder during short court appearance

The husband of Tina Satchwell has appeared in court this morning charged with her murder.
Richard Satchwell, of Grattan St in Youghal, Co Cork, appeared at a special sitting of Cashel District Court before Judge Miriam Walsh.
Arriving at the courthouse just before 10.20am, the 57-year-old, dressed in a black t-shirt and grey tracksuit pants, was flanked by a number of detectives as he entered the courtroom with his head bowed.
A small crowd had gathered outside the court amid a heavy security presence by gardaí but Mr Satchwell’s entrance passed without incident.
He was charged with the murder of Ms Satchwell at their home at Grattan Street in Youghal on March 20, 2017, contrary to Common Law.
Detective David Kelleher told the court that Mr Satchwell was charged with the offence at 8.07pm on Friday, October 13.
Judge Walsh remanded Mr Satchwell back to Clonmel District Court on October 17.
Solicitor for Mr Satchwell, Eddie Burke, said he was consenting to Mr Satchwell appearing via videolink.
Mr Burke added that his client was also seeking medical assistance and that he was not working.
