Thousands show up for surprise Picture This gig on UCC campus 

Email sent to students brings crowds from library and lecture halls to the main Quad in anticipation of the big reveal

Thousands of students were left both surprised and entertained after Irish pop rock group Picture This performed an acoustic gig on campus at University College Cork this afternoon. 

An email was sent to UCC students earlier this morning about the "surprise gig", which they were told would be happening shortly before 1pm on the main campus.

Hundreds exited the Boole Library and lecture halls and headed down to the main Quadrangle, all waiting for the big reveal. 

As a huge crowd formed, the four-man band Picture This arrived to play acoustic versions of some of their biggest hits for the students, ahead of their Other Voices performance later today.

The chart-topping group is among one of the first acts to be announced for the show as it makes its return to UCC.

This year's event features both household names and emerging artists, including Niamh Regan, Cardinals, and Bricknasty.
