Limerick murder: Gardaí seek to question man known to Jady Cristine as autopsy confirms 'violent death'
The late Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa, aged 33, whose body was found at an apartment in Carlton House on Cecil St on Friday.
An autopsy performed by the State Pathologist has confirmed that a young woman murdered in Limerick suffered a “violent death”, as gardaí look to question a man known to her.
Gardaí launched a murder investigation into the death of Brazilian native Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa, aged 33, whose body was found at an apartment in the Carlton House complex on Cecil St at approximately 7.30am on Friday.
Ms Pereira Rosa was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene. It is believed that she had been stabbed.
Gardaí have yet to release autopsy results due to “operational reasons”, but said investigators are currently “following a line of enquiry” as part of the murder investigation.
They are understood to be looking to question a man, known to the victim, in connection with the killing.
Friends of Ms Pereira Rosa raised the alarm on Friday morning as they were due to meet her for work. The friends always met to go to work all together in the mornings, and when she didn't appear, they alerted gardaí at Henry St station, which is located near Cecil St.

A man known to Ms Pereira Rosa was seen by the witnesses that morning around her home, but he has not been seen since and is regarded as a person of interest in the investigation.
Originally from Sorocaba, a city in the state of São Paulo, Ms Pereira Rosa had been living in Limerick for a number of years. She worked for a cleaning company based in Co Limerick.
Ms Pereira's brother told the that the family was struggling to come to terms with her death.
"We are still in shock about what is happening. I never imagined that I would have to go through such an ordeal,” he said.
He said his sister was living the “Brazilian dream" of residing in Europe.
“She always helped everyone who was here in Brazil as much as she could," he said.
More than €16k has been raised as part of a fundraiser set up to repatriate her body to her native Brazil.
A note on the fundraiser page said her life was “tragically cut short” and that they want to support her family and give Ms Pereira Rosa a “dignified farewell in her home country”.
A garda spokesperson confirmed on Saturday afternoon that a murder investigation had been launched.
“A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support the family of the deceased,” the statement said.
“A Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) has been appointed to lead the investigation. An incident room has been established at Henry St Garda Station.”
