‘Hate crime’ banner removed from children’s playpark in Co Tyrone

A banner, which is being treated as a hate crime, has been removed from a children’s playpark in Co Tyrone.

It is the second time that police officers have removed a banner from the location in Moygashel.

A banner was previously removed from the location by police on June 5. It was then replaced.

In a statement on Tuesday, a police spokesperson confirmed the banner had been removed.

The spokesperson said the placing of the banner is being investigated as a criminal offence and issued an appeal for information.

“Police enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information that could assist is asked to contact police on 101,” they said.
