Man charged in connection with fatal assault in Dublin

A man arrested in connection with a fatal assault in Dublin city centre has been charged, gardaí said.
Qayyum Balogun, 21, was found in a serious condition in the area around Clarendon Street and Grafton Street at approximately 3am on Monday.
He was taken to St James’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The man in his 20s was arrested on Wednesday and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Friday morning to face a charge of assault causing harm.
A woman in her 20s, who was arrested in connection with the assault on Tuesday, was released without charge on Wednesday pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
A spokesperson said: “Investigations are ongoing.”
