The garda file in the case against a 25-year-old man charged with murdering his mother and injuring his father outside the family home in Ballinlough last November has been completed and sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions, it was confirmed on Wednesday.
Sergeant Gearóid Davis said the garda file in the investigation was sent to the DPP on April 28. Sgt Davis applied for an adjournment of the case until May 27 to allow time for directions from the DPP.
The accused man, David Gallagher, appeared in Cork District Court by video link from prison. His solicitor Shane Collins-Daly said there was consent to a four-week remand in custody. Consent is required for a custodial remand any longer than a fortnight.
