Father and uncle of toddler who died in Clare accident released from prison on compassionate grounds

It is understood the Prison Service sanctioned the release of Peter Molloy on Wednesday in the hours after his son Hunter’s death was confirmed at University Hospital Limerick

Hunter Molloy died from injuries sustained in a road traffic accident at the Ballaghboy halting site before lunchtime on Wednesday.

The father of the late 18-month old baby boy, Hunter Molloy, has been released from prison on compassionate grounds, a court heard on Friday.

At Ennis Circuit Court, Patrick Whyms (instructed by solicitor, Daragh Hassett) told the court Peter Molloy was now on bail after being released from prison on compassionate grounds arising from the death of his infant child this week.
