Man, 30s, arrested after €546,000 worth of cocaine seized at Dublin Airport

A man in his 30s has been arrested after Revenue officers seized €546,000 worth of cocaine in Dublin Airport on Monday. 

The man arrived in Ireland from Brazil via Madrid and the drugs were discovered in a bag that also contained clothing.

The man was subsequently charged before being detained overnight under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Dublin garda station. 

He is due before the courts on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for the gardaí said "investigations are ongoing."
