A criminal who provided a getaway car for the attempted murder of notorious Limerick gangster Christy Keane has had a "Damascus Road experience" and turned his life around, a barrister has told the Special Criminal Court.

Brian McCartney KC said his client, Larry McCarthy, was committed to his family and his new community in Donegal where his personal circumstances and lifestyle are "completely different" to what persisted during his period of offending.
