Eighth man arrested after €150m cocaine seizure off Cork coast

The arrest follows the discovery of more than €150m worth of cocaine on the MV Matthew earlier this week.

A multi-agency operation responded to intelligence of a major international drug smuggling bid.

An eighth person has been arrested in connection with the largest-ever cocaine seizure off the Irish coast.

The man was arrested earlier today for alleged organised crime offences contrary to the Criminal Justice Act, 2006.
