A young man has been rushed to hospital after being assaulted in Dublin this afternoon.

The man, 20s, was assaulted on Sean McDermott St Lower, in Dublin 1 at approximately 1.30pm.

Gardaí are currently investigating the violent assault as the man gets treated for non-lifethreatening injuries in the Mater Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made.
