Ill health not a reason to halt case against Michael Fingleton, IBRC claims

Irish Bank Resolution Corporation has urged the High Court not to halt its case against former INBS CEO Michael Fingleton over alleged negligent mismanagement of the Irish Nationwide Building Society's (INBS) affairs.

IBRC does not dispute medical evidence that Mr Fingleton (aged 83) suffered significant physical and cognitive impairment following a stroke in 2018 but it maintains that his ill-health, while “an impediment”, is not a basis to stop the case, Lyndon MacCann SC argued.
