Woman arrested over alleged harassment dating back to 2020 in Galway

The woman is currently being detained at a garda station in the Garda Northwestern Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí have arrested a woman in her 40s after more than six years of suspected harassment in Co Galway.

Following reports of harassment in the area between January 2020 and October 2026, An Garda Síochána launched an investigation, which is ongoing.

As part of the investigation, Gardaí in the Galway Division arrested the woman on Thursday for alleged offences contrary to the Non-Fatal Offences Against The Person Act 1997.

The woman is currently being detained at a Garda station in the Garda Northwestern Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said “investigations are ongoing”, with no further information available at this time.
