Cork traffic and weather: Wet and windy start to weekend

Met Éireann has predicted breezy and wet conditions across Cork on Friday.
The national forecaster said increased cloud will start to build later this afternoon with rain moving from early morning.
The rain will be heavy at times with some strong gusts, before gradually spreading eastwards.
A clearance is expected later in the day with sunny spells developing and winds easing light westerly.
Highest temperatures of 15C to 17C are expected.
Friday night will largely dry and clear with light westerly winds and temperatures dropping to between 6C and 8C.
While traffic was quieter this morning across Cork's major city links, including the N40 and M28, a serious collision occurred on the Lower Glanmire Road, involving a pedestrian and a bus.
Emergency services are on scene, with the road blocked as a result.
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes.
Met Éireann has said Saturday is expected to be mainly dry with plenty of sunny spells and light southerly breezes.
A little cloud will drift in during the late afternoon making the sunshine a little hazy with highest temperatures of 17C to 20C.
Saturday night will also be dry apart from the odd spot of light rain or drizzle in some areas.
It will be a little cloudy in the northwest with longer clear spells further south.
Patchy mist and fog is further predicted in the south overnight with lows of 7C to 12C in light to moderate southwest winds.
Sunday will see a little more cloud with outbreaks of rain over the western half of the country.
It will be mainly dry elsewhere for a time until patchy rain arrives later in the evening.
Moderate southwesterly winds are predicted and highs of 16C to 19C.
Sunday night will be cloudy and damp with some patchy mist and drizzle across western counties, while some patchy rain drifts further east.
Southwesterly breezes will continue with lowest temperatures of 11C to 13C.
Monday morning will see further cloud and patchy rain, until it is expected to clear later int he afternoon.
Met Éireann said some sunny spells will develop mainly in the north while a band of more persistent rain moves in across the south.
Southwesterly breezes will be moderate with highs of 16C to 19C.
