The rain will be heavy at times, with highest temperatures of 14C to 16C. There will also be moderate southerly winds, feeling fresher near the coast.
Thursday night will see showery outbreaks of rain continuing and slowly clearing eastwards overnight with clear spells developing.
Cloud will build from the west towards morning with lowest temperatures of 10C to 14C.
Moderate southerly winds will continue into the night, feeling fresher over southern coastal counties.
Traffic is flowing freely across Cork's major city links this morning, with no major incidents or obstructions to note along the N40, M28, or beyond the Jack Lynch Tunnel.
Friday will be mostly dry, with cloud and rain spreading from the Atlantic throughout the morning and afternoon. While Met Éireann has said the rain will turn heavy at times, a clearance to sunny spells will follow into the west through the evening.
Highest temperatures of 14C to 17C are expected in moderate to fresh, and at times, strong southwesterly winds. Friday night will see any lingering rain in the east and south clear to leave mainly dry conditions with clear spells, light breezes and lowest temperatures of 7C to 11C.
Met Éireann has said mainly dry conditions will continue into Saturday, with bright or sunny spells expected across Munster and Leinster.
Sunday will see cloudier conditions with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle in the west and north that will linger through much of the day.
The national forecaster has said the best of any sunny spells will be towards the southeast, with highest temperatures of 15C to 19C in mostly moderate southwesterly winds predicted.
