A woman in her 20s has died in a single vehicle collision in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí in Blanchardstown are appealing for witnesses following the fatal road traffic collision.

A garda spokesperson said that shortly before 12:30am, gardaí and emergency services responded to a single-vehicle collision in Ballycoolin, Dublin 15, between the Snugborough road Cappagh Road roundabouts.

The sole occupant of the car, a woman in her 20s, was pronounced deceased a short time later.

The scene is currently preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road remains closed, with local traffic diversions in place.

The Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward, and any road users who may have camera footage, including dashcam footage, from the area at the time.
