A man in his 30s has been arrested after gardaí seized a firearm and ammunition during a search of a house in Dublin.
The man was arrested following a search under warrant at a domestic residence in Crumlin, Dublin 12, on Friday as part of an investigation into the activities of organised crime groups.
The operation was carried out by the Serious Crime Units attached to Coolock and Swords Garda stations, with support from the Garda Armed Support Unit.
During the search, gardaí recovered a firearm and five rounds of ammunition.
The suspect is being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at a Garda station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.
The firearm has been sent for technical examination.
Gardaí said the operation forms part of ongoing investigations targeting organised crime groups.
Investigations are continuing.
