Over €10m worth of drugs seized by gardaí and Revenue

Gardaí have seized more than €10m worth of drugs after a targeted operation in Louth.

Officers from Revenue assisted gardaí in the sting, which was a as a result of ongoing investigations targeting organised crime activity under Operation Tara/

This operation involved the search of a premises in Louth on Friday and resulted in the seizure of 506kgs of Cannabis, with an estimated value of €10,120,000.

Three males, two in their 30’s and one in his 50’s, were arrested.

They are currently detained, at garda stations in Louth and Dublin.

Investigations are ongoing.

This seizure forms part of Operation Tara, an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy launched by the Garda Commissioner in 2021.
