FSAI issues recall for Hogan’s Farm turkey burgers over salmonella risk

Consumers are advised to check their freezers and return the product if they have the impacted batch.

A batch of Hogan’s Farm Turkey Burgers has been recalled due to concerns over potential salmonella contamination, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has confirmed.

The affected product is a 400g pack with the approval number IE 827 EC and a use-by date of 26 July.

Although the date has passed, the FSAI is warning consumers who may have frozen the burgers not to eat them.

Consumers are advised to check their freezers and return the product if they have the impacted batch.

Recall notices will be displayed at points of sale.

Salmonella infection symptoms typically appear within 12 to 36 hours but can range from six to 72 hours.

Common symptoms include diarrhoea, fever, headache, and abdominal cramps, with the elderly, young children, and immunocompromised individuals at higher risk of serious illness.
