TDs and senators brush up on their Irish with language classes in Leinster House

In 2021, the Oireachtas launched its Irish language strategy, which aims to increase the use of the language in the Dáil and Seanad.

A total of 16 TDs and senators have brushed up on their cúpla focal by availing of Irish language classes.

The Houses of the Oireachtas Service provides in-house Irish classes at beginner, intermediate and advanced level for members of the Oireachtas, as well as political personnel and staff.
