Conor McGregor is due to host former Fox News host Tucker Carlson in his Dublin pub later this Tuesday evening.

Mr McGregor is due to speak with Mr Carlson in his pub, The Black Forge, at an undisclosed time this evening.

In a post on X, Mr McGregor confirmed the visit of the US commentator.

“God bless you Ireland, I was put on this earth to serve and protect you and I will forever my days,” he said.

Mr Carlson gained a huge following in the US in the latter part of the 2010s as a right-wing populist, and has since been accused of parroting pro-Vladimir Putin rhetoric amid its invasion of Ukraine, as well as stoking virulent anti-immigrant sentiment.

He was axed by Fox News in the aftermath of a defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems against the network for airing false allegations that the company’s machines were used to steal the 2020 election from former president Donald Trump.

The sides settled just as the trial was getting under way, with Fox agreeing to pay Dominion nearly €725m.

Mr McGregor has signalled his intentions to run for the presidency of Ireland, when Michael D Higgins’s term of office expires at the end of the year.

Last month, Mr McGregor was invited by US president Donald Trump to visit the White House for St Patrick’s Day.

His visit to the White House was widely condemned by Irish politicians, including the Taoiseach and Tánaiste, who said that he did not speak for Ireland.

Later in March, it was confirmed that no charges would be brought against Mr McGregor over alleged incitement of hatred ahead of the Dublin riots in late 2023.

On the night before the riots, Mr McGregor had tweeted “Ireland, we are at war”, and a separate post later said: “You reap what you sow."

It is understood gardaí had investigated Mr McGregor’s comments and forwarded a file to the DPP to consider whether charges should be brought. It has now emerged that no charges will be brought.

The High Court also heard last month that Mr McGregor is due to seek to introduce new evidence in support of his appeal to overturn a civil jury’s verdict last year that he assaulted Nikita Hand.
