Officers conducted a number of searches in homes and businesses in Longford and Dublin in their operation.

A major garda operation has seen an organised crime group based in Dublin hit by searches on Thursday morning.

Officers conducted a number of searches at homes and businesses in Longford and Dublin as part of their operation.

A total of 29 vehicles, believed to be valued at between €500k and €600k, were seized by gardaí.

Alongside the vehicles, evidence relating to drug-related money laundering and fraud offences was also seized.

Further freezing orders have been placed on company accounts, freezing approximately €200k suspected to be the proceeds of crime.

It is the second major seizure in two days by Gardaí.

On Wednesday, gardaí seized drugs, including cannabis and heroin, following a search of a house in County Meath.

Four men, aged in their 60s, 40s and 30s, were arrested at the scene.

The search, carried out in Stamullen by gardaí from the Dublin Crime Response Team, saw the seizure of 12kg of cannabis herb, 400g of heroin, eight bars of cannabis resin, and cannabis oils, gels, jellies, and vapes.

According to a garda spokesperson, the search operation was conducted as part of a long-running investigation into a criminal group based in West Dublin.

Investigations are ongoing, the spokesperson said.
