Higgins: 'Outrageous' IDF 'threats' to UN peacekeepers
“It is outrageous that the Israeli Defence Forces have threatened this peacekeeping force and sought to have them evacuate the villages they are defending,” President Higgins said.
President Michael D Higgins has condemned the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) for what he called "outrageous threats" directed at peacekeepers, including Irish troops, in Lebanon.
With just two days until the anniversary of hostilities breaking out in the region between Israel and Hamas, Mr Higgins said he is “thinking of what an anxious time” it is for those Irish citizens serving in Lebanon.
