Young cancer survivor raises €220k for hospital that cured her

Penny O'Brien was diagnosed with osteosarcoma  in June 2020 before having limb-saving surgery the following September and got the chance to ring the bell at Children’s Health Ireland in 2021 to mark the end of her chemo journey.

A 10-year-old girl is being hailed a hero for the second time after raising €220k for the hospital that helped her beat cancer.

Penny O’Brien showed tremendous strength after overcoming osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, in March 2021.
