Ireland's Indian summer looks set to continue for another few days with Met Éireann predicting highs of 24C on Thursday.

According to the forecaster, Thursday will be a dry day with "long spells of sunshine" and temperatures of 20C to 24C are expected across the country.

However, it will be "a little cooler" near the east coast due to a light to moderate easterly breeze.

Thursday night will be dry with "mostly clear skies" again, and winds will be light. Some areas of mist and fog will form overnight.

On Friday, that mist and fog will clear and it will be "another dry day with long spells of sunshine."

But it "may turn cloudier at times" near the east coast, bringing the chance of an isolated shower.

Temperatures on Friday will range between 17C and 23C.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday will start quite cloudy with patches of mist and fog, and there will be "some drizzle" too.

According to Met Éireann, it will "brighten up in the afternoon" but some heavy showers are possible during the evening.

Highest temperatures of 16C to 20C are expected.

Saturday night will see some heavy showers early on, but these will "die out overnight."

On Sunday, it will be cloudy across the southern half of the country, with rain which may turn heavy and thundery at times.

Further to the north of the country it will stay dry with sunny spells and temperatures could reach up to 19C.
