Yellow rain warning for four counties extended ahead of unsettled weather

A status yellow rain warning has been extended for four counties ahead of what is being described as an "unsettled" weekend of weather.
Dublin, Louth, Meath and Wicklow are all under the warning, which will come into effect at 8pm on Friday and run until 6am on Saturday.
Met Éireann initially issued the alert on Thursday before updating it on Friday morning, noting that there would be "heavy rain at times, with a potential for spot flooding."

Friday morning started dry but the showers are set to sweep across from the west.
Overnight, the showers will become heavy and scattered, with Met Éireann saying there will be "longer spells of rain over the north and east which may lead to spot flooding".
Other risks include outdoor events being impacted and "difficult travelling conditions."
The overall forecast for Friday reads: "By evening time some showers merging to longer spells of rain with the chance of embedded thunderstorms and spot flooding
Saturday will bring sunny spells, although there will be some showers in the north and west, with Met Éireann saying these will extend to other areas through the afternoon and evening, turning heavy in parts
Temperatures will hit a high of 17C.
It will be a similar story for Sunday, though the heaviest and most frequent showers will be over the northern half of the country.
